Oct 30 --Trick or Trunk Evening time to come
Oct. 30 –Book It Reading logs are due. Turn them in as soon as you have 15 books. Be sure you are reading from your book bag each night.
What are we learning?
Language Arts
Reading Fiction-Your child will learn to make an inference by using pictures, text, and prior knowledge.
MATH (18 days)
Count by 2’s and count by 10’s from any number. Decompose numbers such as 10= 5+5=8+2= 7+3= 6+4=9+1.
We will also be working on measuring objects in our environment.
Science –Sound –What causes sound?
Announcements
State Capitol Field Trip– is October 23rd. Permission slips went home in last week’s Wednesday folder! The permission form is two sided; please make sure to complete BOTH sides! If you are able to join us and would like to chaperone this trip, please complete the Volunteer Application as soon as possible.
Academic Night – Teachers have been working hard to plan events, activities, and make-and-take style items to go home. Join us 5:30 – 7:00 on October 22nd!
Unity Day – is Wednesday, October 21st!! Wear orange and support awareness against bullying. Live Oak is joining schools across the country to ensure our school is bully-free.
Absences – You can electronically report an absence on our school website. Please note that this does not notify me. If you are able, please e-mail me or call the classroom to leave a message letting me know if your child will be out. Thank you!
Mark Your Calendars! – Friday, October 23rd first grade will go on their first fieldtrip to the Texas State Capitol! More info to come in October!
Trunk or Treat is back! Join us in the Deerpark/LOE parking lot for Trick or Treat fun, Friday, Oct. 30th! PTA and teachers will have their trunks decorated and ready for a fun community night!
